Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with problems to water supplies, as stated by municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from area administrators.

Russian forces has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "substantial measures" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not window dressing but firm measures - from the United States, European nations and the G7 - in delivering air defence systems and implementing restrictions," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 missiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to restore power.

A barrage of missiles struck power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by city authorities.
